Why I Started iFind You Close®

The idea for this business started on a quiet morning in London.

In 2018, I arrived a few days early for my first international speaking engagement in the UK. It was my birthday, so I gave myself time to wander... to walk through the city, reflect on my journey, and think about what I wanted the next chapter of my life to look like.

At that point, I had already landed dozens of speaking gigs across the U.S., and I realized something important:
The research came naturally to me.
It felt just like my years as a Computer Scientist and Systems Engineer for the U.S. Navy... pattern recognition, systems thinking, finding the signal in the noise.

People kept asking me how I found opportunities. Why my pitches got noticed. How I was consistently landing rooms that converted into clients and connections.

The truth?
I wasn’t gifted.
I was intentional.

I researched.
I tracked.
I tested.
I observed how the industry worked, both as a speaker and later as a speaker coordinator, choosing who got on stage and who didn’t.

The London trip brought all of that into focus.

I realized I could take the part of speaking that most people found overwhelming, the research, and turn it into something simple, actionable, and sustainable.
